Woo hoo!
We found something really cool today...a remake of "Call of the Wild" with Christopher Lloyd! (he was the professor in Back to the Future among other movies) We were on YouTube looking for a video about how to build a dogsled when we saw it.
The movie actually came out last summer, but neither one of us knew!
Mrs. Farnum went to Amazon.com and found a used one...so with shipping it's only $10.
We plan to start watching it next week. It should be here on Monday. How awesome is that?
I got a dog last month, his name is Homer. He is half Husky/half Labrador. He wakes me up
by howling. He sleeps in a house in the back yard.
Homer is a very friendly dog because he never bites or claws. He likes to shake hands and
play in the snow.
Last week Mrs. Farnum and I found a plan for a dogsled online. My mom thinks that instead of
having a bucket/bottle calf, my dad and I should build the dogsled and take that to the Fair in July.
I may be taking Homer to the Fair too. He could run the obstacle course. That would be fun.
Thanks for visiting my Blog!

Susan Butcher--Female 4 Time Winner
Susan Butcher created a short documentary that I watched about caring for and training the dogs.
We ordered it from the AEA. It was one of the first things we did when we started learning more
about the Iditarod this year in school.

Mackey Wins 2010 Iditarod!

I became an "Insider" two weeks ago...that means my parents purchased a membership to a site where I would have exclusive access to information, photos, and video. I also could see the race via GPS tracking.
It was fun to check on the race periodically throughout the day and evening. My teacher even let me check it at school!
One of the things I learned was the Lance Mackey was also in the Yukon Quest.

Carter's Bio

This is my Talented and Gifted project.
My interest in the Iditarod started because I have a love of dogs. When I was in Kindergarten
our school studied the Iditarod and chose a musher to follow in each class. We chose Paul Gebhart.
Last year we followed Lance Mackey and he won!
This year I will follow Lance Mackey and am excited for the race to begin.
I hope Lance wins! It would be his 5th time winning the Iditarod.
Someday I hope to go there. My grandmother, a former teacher, has offered to take me!
