Carter's Bio

Hi, I'm Carter. I'm 8, and a second grade student in NW Iowa.
This is my Talented and Gifted project.
My interest in the Iditarod started because I have a love of dogs. When I was in Kindergarten
our school studied the Iditarod and chose a musher to follow in each class. We chose Paul Gebhart.
Last year we followed Lance Mackey and he won!
This year I will follow Lance Mackey and am excited for the race to begin.

I hope Lance wins! It would be his 5th time winning the Iditarod.

Someday I hope to go there. My grandmother, a former teacher, has offered to take me!

  1. Hey Carter,

Your blog looks great. I am sure that you are excited about the Iditarod. I actually spent a month in Alaska working at a school in Palmer, Alaska. The time spent there was well worth it even in the winter. The sun was only out maybe a few hours a day which made it very interesting. The weather was warmer there than it was here, but that was due to the Japanese Trade Winds coming off the ocean. Keep up the hard work.
